Sofía Zahara Vera, known affectionately as Shosho, is a South Florida fine artist whose work bridges personal history, cultural identity, and emotional storytelling. Based in West Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale, she creates art that blends traditional technique with contemporary perspective, while engaging collectors and audiences across Palm Beach County, Broward County, and surrounding areas.

Her heritage — Jewish and Peruvian roots — deeply informs her artistic voice, inspiring a body of work that explores themes of memory, resilience, and transformation. Before the global pandemic, Vera was recognized for her award-winning fashion and visual art, with pieces featured in multiple fashion shows, including Miami Fashion Week.

Today, her practice reflects both intimacy and universality, blending her painterly eye with the layered sensitivity of someone who has navigated profound challenges. Each piece is a meditation on form, color, and texture — a way of documenting the inner landscapes of her life while inviting viewers to find their own narratives within her work.

Outside of the studio, Vera is an avid storyteller, creative curator, and cook, often finding inspiration in the everyday rhythms of life. Her work embodies her belief that art is not just about aesthetics, but about connection, conversation, and lived experience.
